Verse of the Week - 2 Corinthians 1:4
"Who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort which we ourselves are comforted by God."

The Lord Goes Before You
Jesus has indeed gone before us on the cross. He has gone before us and broken the curtain by his blood, so that we also can come into the presence of the Almighty. And he always goes before us to prepare our way, particularly when we are walking in him and looking to him, seeking first his kingdom and his righteousness - Matthew 6:33.
Our helper, our Comforter, is the Holy Spirit, who is sent from our Father in heaven. Jesus promised his disciples that he would send a helper, when he returned to the Father - John 15:26. The Holy Spirit reveals God's thoughts, guides and teachers believers in spirit and in truth. It helps Christians' in their weakness, and intercedes for them. We are empowered as we learn to be obedient to the 'Word of God' in our sufferings.
There are many reasons to “not be afraid,” as we remember that God is with us, goes before us, and will never leave us. Just as we have no reason to fear, we have no reason to be discouraged. Everything that happens is part of God’s great plan for us, even when it is painful, as God will always give us the strength to pull through. He knows our limits, and will not give us more than we can bare. We should never be discouraged, but rather, encouraged by the fact that he directs our course, and, while we put in the effort required, the praise and glory always belongs to God.
Remember God is our Help - Let Us Pray
"Oh God, my Father in heaven, who is my refuge and my strength, and my ever-present help in times of trouble. When it seems like everything is up against me; like a great big tidal wave is falling upon me, you stretch out your hands to lift me back up, and stop me from drowning.
When I am vulnerable you are my refuge, when I cry out for help you answer my call. You wipe away my tears and make me feel loved, safe, and valued. You remind me of the words in Psalm 91, as I abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
You take away my fear when I read your words in Deuteronomy 31:8, saying - "It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed." Oh LORD, thank you for your promises, your grace and your mercy. Your name is above all names
Amen
