What are you thankful for? Prisons Week of Prayer 2022

9th October marks the start of Prisons Week of Prayer 2022. Spurgeons helps to create resources for this annual week of prayer which is supported by over thirty Christian organisations working in prisons and post-release.

What are you thankful for? That is the question being asked this year. It turns out that everybody has something, or more likely someone, that they are truly grateful for.

Please pray through the week using the daily prayers on this year’s leaflet from people affected in different ways by imprisonment. They are inspired by this year’s Prisons Sunday bible reading in Luke:17 when the Samaritan leper returns to thank Jesus for bringing hope, healing and purpose to a life of hostility and suffering.

About Spurgeons Prison-based Family Support Services:

Spurgeons delivers family support services at HMP Winchester. These services provide family support services for prisoners and their families and friends who visit them, with a particular focus on children and strengthening family relationships. We appreciate how important prison visits are for everyone involved. Our aim is to make them less daunting so that the time spent together helps families to reconnect in a positive way. We are always here to offer practical and emotional support.
