Working for children in Horsham
Spurgeons have been delivering counselling into a group of Horsham schools since 2021, when a number of teenage suicides in West Sussex put great attention on the need for addition support for young people.
In that time, we have established a consistent team of counsellors who have embedded in the school’s wellbeing plans and seen meaningful impacts. The team have seen a variety of presenting issues – bullying, self-harm, anxiety, depression, family breakdown and many others, working with those affected and the school to ensure the best outcomes for the children involved.
We are grateful for the financial support we have received from the local community, particularly churches in Horsham, without which we wouldn’t have been able to provide this vital service for the past four years. Sadly, much of our funding is ending soon.
This programme costs us almost £24,000 per annum and we would be grateful for any support you can give.
