Buttons ABC preschool in Maidstone is owned and run by Spurgeons, providing an inspiring and well-resourced preschool learning environment.
We provide morning sessions between 08:45 and 11:45 with wraparound lunch and afternoon sessions between 12:15 and 15:15. Our early years staff are trained and dedicated to the highest standard of care and early years education.
Our preschool in Maidstone is based in a bright and spacious building on with high quality play equipment, for both inside and outside play. The building is on the site of Archbishop Courtenay Primary School, which offers links and excellent transition for children. Families are welcomed and valued, and children feel comfortable, secure and can forge positive relationships with both staff and other children.

Early years learning at ABC Buttons Preschool
At Buttons, the care and preschool education offered provides interesting and engaging education activities that are appropriate for their age and stage of development.
Time spent at Buttons is varied and well-structured, with all session times geared around the school day to enable siblings to be picked up from school. A wide range of activities are delivered each day from storytelling, crafts and fancy dress to energetic education activities. We have a purpose-built outside space for play, and whatever the weather, there is always an element of free-flow and self-selection, with a mixture of education and enjoyment.
We embrace our role within a child’s development, helping to nurture rounded, joy filled children who have been loved, educated and equipped for the next step into “Big School”.
Preschool in Maidstone: Opening Times
The times of our sessions are:
8:45am to 11:45am Monday to Friday
12:15pm to 3:15pm Monday to Friday.
Children can stay for the full day and bring a packed lunch (there is a small charge to cover lunch care).

We offer up to 15 and 30 hours funded sessions for 2, 3 and 4-year-olds.
Buttons is registered to provide Free Early Years Education. Under the scheme all children aged three and four are eligible for a ‘free place’ the term after their third birthday.
Early years learning is provided for sessions which amount to either fifteen or thirty hours weekly. Extra sessions can also be booked and are charges as below. We also accept ‘Free for 2’ funding for two year olds. For more information on funding please visit Childcare Choices or Kent County Council’s Childcare website.
For those that are required to pay, our fees are:
£18.50 per session (3 hours)
£37 per full day (9am–3.30pm) including lunch cover. £2.50 for lunch if all day session is covered by free entitlement hours.
Our fees are reviewed annually in September.
