Fundraising challenges
It's time to dust off those trainers, push through those fears and take on fundraising challenges for charity.
What charity challenge are you planning to take on this year?
Whether you’re an experienced marathon runner or looking to take on your first ever charity challenge, we have an event to suit you. We have events such as friendly obstacle races, bungee jumps, half marathons and oversees events.
There’s something for everyone. Whatever challenge you decide to take on, we will be on hand throughout to help you raise money for Spurgeons. By taking on a run for charity, you will be helping to change the lives of families facing life’s biggest challenges.
Katie’s plan to run for charity
Spurgeons’ staff member Katie Lavender challenges herself working as part of the Invisible Walls team at HMP Winchester and is now taking on an incredible charity challenge by running the Amsterdam Marathon raising money for Spurgeons.
‘If I finish it without needing medical help then I’m going to be very happy!’
Katie has never run a marathon before, and signed up with her brother on a whim in June. ‘I don’t know if I’ll ever do it again!’, she says. ‘I wasn’t unfit before but definitely not fit enough to be doing something like that. I have really enjoyed the training. It’s been so tough but my brother and boyfriend have been helping me. We have committed 100%.’
What do I do if I’ve already arranged my own places in charity challenge events?
