Spurgeons win contract to lead family centres & family resilience services in Elmbridge
Family charity Spurgeons has been awarded a new five year contract by Surrey County Council to continue and expand its support for local families.
The contract which begins on 1st April 2024, enables Spurgeons to work with children from a wider age range - 0-18s and up to 25 for those with additional needs and/or disabilities.
Working together with parents, we will support them to build on their family strengths by offering targeted one to one work or group work including parenting support, such as groups for new parents, groups for parents of teenagers and sessions for separated parents.
Groups will also be available directly for children and young people including holiday activities and sessions for the whole family.
The vision for the service is to create the best early help for families, addressing issues impacting their health, development and wellbeing. Spurgeons will be responsible for leading the delivery of early help in the local area, working with local community partners to ensure that families receive the support they need.
Spurgeons' CEO Ian Soars said: 'Spurgeons has supported children and families in Elmbridge since 2019 and we are absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to continue this invaluable work. Our passion is to transform lives of children and families through the commitment and expert care we provide. We are excited and committed to making the Family Centres and Family Resilience Services vision a reality for local children, young people and their parents. Partnering with Surrey County Council, who commission the service, our skilled, experienced, and compassionate team will continue to deliver high quality, innovative support.'
