Please pray for our work and ministry

Please would you continue to pray for the children and families who are being supported in our Children's Centres and elsewhere. Would you pray also for others under our care, families who are disadvantaged or struggling to cope with their difficulties and children and young people who carry emotional burdens or heavy responsibilities as well as those who have been, or are, at significant risk of harm or exploitation.
Would you pray also for Spurgeons colleagues and volunteers providing essential services at this difficult time for us all, that the Lord would protect them, and keep them safe, as they go about their important work with such vulnerable children and their families.

A prayer for families:

Heavenly Father,

Your Son set us the example of valuing children and treating them with love and compassion. Help
us to uphold those standards with every young person we meet. May we inspire them, protect them from harm and support them to achieve the potential You have blessed them with.
We pray for all parents, caregivers and children who are going through difficult times.

We pray for families struggling with rising costs of food, energy, fuel and rent; we cry out for
protection of these most basic rights, particularly among those who are vulnerable. Give us the
opportunity and means to be a blessing and support to them however best we can. Help us to strive for justice for them. Help us to ensure that they do not go cold or hungry, that they have a safe place to call home, that each family member feels valued.

We pray for families affected by violence, abuse or conflict. We ask You to protect them, and for
Your church to support them with love and practical help. Give all families in danger safe passage
to places of safety. May they be given warm hospitality and the support they need to rebuild their
broken lives.

We pray for Spurgeons staff and volunteers who work so tirelessly to bring love and care into the
lives of families going through difficult times. We ask that You strengthen and protect them so that
they can give their very best in their work.

Thank you, Lord, for all who support Spurgeons through prayer, donations and volunteering to help every child to have the opportunity to achieve the unique potential You have given to them.
We ask all these things in the name of Your precious Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Amen
A prayer for us all:
''Father God, I so want to take Jesus at His word, when He tells me: 'Do not worry about your life....' (Matthew 6:25-34), but I confess that I do worry and, today, I am worried.''
''Father God, when I pray, I am very good at 'casting all my care...' upon you (1 Peter 5:7), and while I so appreciate the opportunity I have to do so, I confess that I am not so good at 'being anxious for nothing...' (Philippians 4:6-7).''
''Father God, it is so easy to be a worrier. We live in a day where there is much fear and much to worry about, to be anxious over. But Jesus has told us not to worry, but 'to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness' (Matthew 6:33), that is to seek His salvation, to live in obedience to Him and to share the Good News of His kingdom.''
''Father God, in faith today, I cast ALL my care upon you. Help me to trust you and not be anxious. And Father, give me opportunities today to speak your truth into troubled hearts and minds. For your glory, in Jesus' name.''
Amen
