Are you wondering if your child's mood swings are normal? Concerned they might be struggling with anxiety? Feeling like their low moods are bordering on depression?

You can get your questions answered and helpful advice free from one of our counsellors in a 20 minute Ask a Counsellor session.

Join and chat!

From Monday 13th May we will be offering sessions for parents to join. In your session, you can have a text-based conversation with a trained Spurgeons counsellor during which you can ask questions and talk about your child's mental health.

How will it work?

We are currently offering sessions on the following dates and times:

Monday 13th May - 13:30-14:30 and 18:30-19:30

Tuesday 14th May - 13:30-14:30 and 18:30-19:30

Wednesday 15th May - 13:30-14:30 and 18:30-19:30

Thursday 16th May - 13:30-14:30 and 18:30-19:30

Friday 17th May - 13:30-14:30

If you would like to join one of these sessions, go to our Ask a Counsellor page. When we are online you will notice an icon in the bottom corner of the page- click there to start your chat.

You will be asked for your email address and your contact numbers. You may then enter a question or opening statement to begin your chat with one of our counsellors.

If our staff are speaking to other users, you will be notified and can wait until one of our counsellors are free to chat to you.

If you'd like to be reminded about these sessions, you can sign up for a reminder.

The need for support

Currently 1 in 6 children in the UK suffers from a mental health issue. This equates to 47,000 young people across the UK. Depression, anxiety and self-harm are all major concerns. Counselling can help your child explore and understand their feelings and identify helpful coping strategies.
